About JS Pottery SoCal

Built Different. Fired with Purpose.

Welcome to JS Pottery SoCal - where clay meets culture, and every piece rolls out of the studio like a freshly tuned build leaving the garage.

The Story

JS Pottery SoCal was born in the sun-baked, canyon-carved heart of Southern California, a place where the smell of eucalyptus mixes with motor oil, and the desert sky turns the color of a sunset. The hands behind every piece? That's Jill, a lifelong car enthusiast and self-taught potter who found that throwing clay and building cars have more in common than you'd think: both demand patience, precision, and a deep respect for imperfection.

Growing up in the SoCal tuner scene, late nights at meets, the note of the 1JZ-GTE echoing off canyon walls, HKS stickers and Supra dreams. Jill discovered that the same philosophy driving the best builds also drives the best pottery. You don't chase perfection. You chase character.

The Philosophy: Wabi-Sabi on Wheels

Every piece from JS Pottery SoCal is guided by wabi-sabi, the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection. That slight asymmetry in your mug? Intentional. The organic texture on your bowl? That's the clay telling its own story. Just like a well-loved daily driver with a few battle scars, our pieces carry the marks of being made by human hands, not machines.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike. That's not a bug, that's the whole point.

Handmade, Every Time

Every single piece is wheel-thrown or hand-built right here in SoCal, glazed by hand, and fired in our kiln. There's no factory. No shortcuts. Just clay, water, fire, and a playlist that's probably got too much EDM on it.

When you hold a JS Pottery piece, you're holding something that took hours of work, a few choice words during trimming, and a whole lot of love to bring into the world. We think that matters.
